Armed with the knowledge that F&W violations such as poaching is a serious crime against every citizen of Vermont, the Vermont Federation of Sportsman's Clubs (VTFSC) is proud and honored to continue supporting and evangelizing OGT here in Vermont.

Originally created by the New Mexico Department of F&W as a mechanism to better respond to Fish & Wildlife violations, OGT was established to allow members of the public to anonymously report fish & wildlife violations and additionally provide funding to serve as a reward when convictions were obtained.

Due to the efforts of a group called the Sporting Alliance for Vermont's Environment (SAVE), and specifically due to the efforts of one Bruce Spaulding, an OGT program was successfully established here in Vermont in 1985 using $5,000 raised by SAVE to pay the initial costs of the system.

While SAVE is no longer active, the torch of OGT was successfully passed and picked up by the VTFSC, who, working closely with the Vermont Department of F&W, continues to fund the ongoing costs of the 24-hour Dispatch (currently contracted with the Orange County Sheriff's Department), cost of the raffled item (usually a firearm), cost of the raffle tickets, costs of the OGT table at shows, costs associated with any rewards given, and the cost of the bumper stickers which we disseminate freely at these shows that advertises OGT and the number to call (image of Bumper Sticker is shown above).

The VTFSC handles this by selling raffle tickets primarily at Gun Shows and events like the Yankee Sportsman's Classic but also by individual officers and delegates.  If you are interested in the current item being raffled in support of OGT, please see our Raffles page, or otherwise you might consider making a Donation.
